They haven't read it

I saw news about China's new five-year plan for its pharmaceutical industry. These plans come out periodically and have dramatic effects, so I started reading the news. I couldn't find any consistent reporting. I looked for the original document to read the primary source. All I found was articles quoting articles, and that is not how one learns. I searched with an agent swarm and found that no one had actually translated it, so I set to translating it for the world.

Westerners think they understand the Chinese pharma plan when they haven't read it. That's going to come across as demeaning to Westerners. In 18 pages they articulated an entire healthcare system and plan.

I transcribed it and read it in detail so I can understand global geopolitical issues, global pharma context and global strategy, and be informed. The point was to give the community a true document that it needs to do its work intelligently.

So the headline counts drugs still in trials. You only see that if you read the primary source.

Another said: "I don't need to read it and it applies to everything and not just biotech."

Someone pushed back: "not sure why the tone in the comments seem dismissive...they have a huge and a highly capable workforce that is highly motivated, technology that is close to if not at parity to the west, and direct investments from the government."

Julia Pian at Atlas Venture read it: "The Western press coverage I have seen to date has highlighted the KPIs set out for Chinese Biopharma at the beginning of the Plan, calling them ambitious.
